MIDNIGHT

(A.Qunta/J.Wareing)

If midnight could last forever
Then I'd never ever ever
Have to leave you
But dreams don't seem to last
If there's no future or no past
Time goes by so fast
If we could only make it stop
Like the hands on a clock
As they climb to the top at midnight

If midnight was neverending
We could stop all this pretending
And be together
But how are we to know
If our love will ever grow?
Only time will show
If we could only make it stop
Like the hands on a clock
As they climb to the top at midnight

Two hands that come together
Our love will last forever
Now we've struck that magic hour
Time stands still at midnight

But dreams don't seem to last
If there's no future or no past
Time goes by too fast
If we could only make it stop
Like the hands on a clock
As they climb to the top at midnight

Two hands that come together
Our love will last forever
Now we've struck that magic hour
Time stands still at midnight
Like the hands on a clock
As they climb to the top at midnight
It's midnight

(c.Polygram Music)

Most of the time I write the music first and put the words to it afterwards. WIth "Midnight", Jane had written the first verse, then I wrote the music for it, and the whole the song, from that, then we finished the rest of the lyrics and melody. Don't know where I got the idea for the end section, but I really like it!
