 After Factory Tony played in Head On with Andy Q and Steve Kinch, along with firstly Steve Demetris and later the late Mark Thirsk. Tony then worked freelance expanding his playing styles into jazz, jazz/rock, funk and world music, including a stint with an original three piece band ‘A Minute Passed’ (with virtuoso bass player Roger Carey and drummer Mark Thirsk) where he used guitar synth extensively. The mid to late 1980s saw Tony involved in various jingle sessions as well as songwriting with ex Hazel O’Connor sax player, Wesley Magoogan, which led to being signed by CBS publishing. He also worked with legendary blues harmonica great, Johnny Mars. At the end of the 80s Tony toured with various bands including disco superstar band Odyssey, and afrobeat band Kabbala. He also was featured on his brother Andy’s album ‘Legend In A Loungeroom’. |

| In the
early 1990s Tony worked with ex Hugh Masakela keyboard player Mervyn
Africa, as well as with ex Imagination drummer, Errol Kennedy. He also
did various recording sessions. He also worked with a number of soca
and calypso artists from Britain and the Caribbean. During the mid 90s Tony worked with Three Degrees vocalist, Sheila Ferguson, in the show ‘Soultrain’, both in The West End and on tour. He also toured and recorded with the infamous ‘Circus Of Horrors’, playing guitar and electric violin; returning after several years he did two tours as keyboard player. Tony also did a short stint with West African world music artist, Mamadi Kamara. Around the late 90s Tony performed and recorded with ex ‘Us3’ drummer Cheryl Alleyne’s jazz/rock band ‘Solar Breeze’. During the first few years of the new millennium Tony worked with a number of theatre shows both in the West End and on tour, notably ‘Tell Me On A Sunday’ with original lead Marti Webb, and ‘Dancing In The Streets’ (the story of Motown). Around this time Tony performed with world No.1 rock bass player Billy Sheehan and ex Bowie drummer, Woody Woodmansey. Since then Tony has worked with No.1 British blues drummer, Sam Kelly, in Sam Kelly’s Station House, Sam Kelly’s Blues Band, and reggae band ‘Fowokan’ with Jamaican vocal legend, Jimmy Lyndsay. He has also worked with various artists such as The Drifters and Edgar Winter. Tony has also recorded and performed with ex ‘Direct Drive,’ Paul Hardcastle vocalist, and notable Lovers Rock vocalist Helen Rogers, playing electric, acoustic and classical guitar as well as violin and cello. In the past few years Tony has also worked with original members of legendary band ‘Cymande’, doing performances in the UK and Ireland as well as live radio. He also played the past two years with New Orleans legendary funk drummer, Zigaboo Modeliste (of ‘The Meters’) when he toured the UK and France. Tony performed at Womad 2015 Festival with Egyptian percussion maestro, Hossam Ramzy’s project ‘Rock The Tabla. The start of 2016 has seen Tony’s guitarwork on Reuben James Richards’ single ‘A.S.A.P.’ appearing on the Radio 2 ’A’ Playlist and receiving extensive airplay. Tony also has his own soon to be launched rock/fusion band ‘Toneheadz’. |
